Have you heard the one about Dorothy Custer, the 102-years young American lady from Idaho? She celebrated her birthday a couple of days ago by jumping off a bridge, attached to a professional, with only a parachute to hold her fall. Did she like it? She loved it, but found it didn’t last long enough! How is that for guts!?
According to reports she is no stranger to this kind of fun, having celebrated last year by zip-lining in Idaho’s Snake River Canyon. Sounds like a true thrill seeker…putting us all to shame.
“I was thinking of going to jump out of a plane, but then I found out it was too much,” Custer told one interviewer. “So then I said, ‘Forget it, I’ll just have a very calm birthday.” Oh, ok then.
When asked about the key to her longevity, Custer said, “Well, I’ve often wondered that too, but I’ve never thought of age.” She added, “I just went on living and having a good time and doing what was necessary. I don’t think of age right now.”she said, according to foxnews.com.
What an attitude to have! I guess you need to be blessed with wonderful health to be able to live like that. But then again, Dorothy probably enjoys such health because of her lifestyle!
Which brings the question: What comes first? Does the health enable the attitude or does the attitude benefit the health?
Would love to hear what you think!
